Not just any pinafore jumpsuit, it’s an M&S Kids Pinafore Jumpsuit
This is an impromptu post, but I just had to share it. I’ve been seeing a lot of the pinafore style around for AW16, so I thought I’d share my excitement at finding this £12 M&S Kids Pinafore Culotte Jumpsuit, styled on a romp through the Monet Gardens. Today, I popped into M&S to check out the sale. I picked up a few absolute bargains for B, including some shorts for next summer. Yes, I am that person. And, on the way out, I saw this pinafore jumpsuit on the sale rail.
No just any sale rail, not even just any M&S sale rail, but on the M&S Girls’ sale rail!

I love M&S clothes for B and for me as the quality is impeccable and the styles are fab. I’m not averse to perusing the kids’ section for myself – as you’ll know from the faux leather biker jacket, which is in our latest YouTube lookbook. I love jumpsuits, that’s no lie and I find the culotte style so wearable and flattering – as you’ll have seen from the breastfeeding friendly one I styled. They’re a perfect one piece go to for when you’re on the go, but want to look stylish. No difficult matching decisions needed, because it’s all there.
So, I threw caution to the wind and shelled out the princely sum of… £12 for this number. Yup, it was only £12!
What can I say, I love it.
We were on the way back from a day out, the sun was shining and we spotted these Monet Gardens, which are based on gardens planted by Monet at Giverny in France. They were a perfect location for a pit stop and a quick 10 minute photo shoot!
As it was in the sale, I know it’s likely to sell out, but guess what? Yup, there are M&S adult versions! Hurrah! The same pinafore style, in a range of different fabrics and finishes.
The Pinafore Culotte Jumpsuit| Style it up
The jumpsuit zips to the back and has an elasticated waist and it’s super comfortable to wear. The pinafore neck is not only right on trend, but it’s really flattering, too. The other bonus is that I can see me wearing this into the Autumn with a long-sleeved turtle neck underneath and perhaps some knee boots. And probably my favourite jacket.
Size wise, I picked up age 12-13. Ridiculous! To get an idea of the sizing, I am a UK size 6. But, there’s room to breathe and it’s not too clingy, which is always a welcome bonus.
I’ll be wearing it again this weekend, with heels and because it has belt loops, I’ll spruce it up with a different belt. But, for a bit of casual daytime chic, I think it goes great with flats and pumps and would be great with sandals for a cool holiday look for next year too.
M&S, you’ve done it again, I love this pinafore style – in the kids’ and adult ranges. Thank you!
The moral of this story: Always check the children’s section, you never know what you might find for a fraction of the price.
