New In: Spring/Summer Bomber Jacket
Styling a Spring/Summer bomber jacket
A bomber jacket for Spring/Summer? Well, if we're talking about the British summer time, that might mean Indian summer hot in the morning, Autumnal clouds by midday and hailstones in the evening! I feel like I need to cart around a suitcase as I have to prepare for all eventualities every time I leave the house at the moment. And that's for me and B!
That's where this new spring/summer style bomber jacket has really come in handy - it's lightweight enough to not be too hot, but a great way to protect from a chill.
Bomber jackets are all over the place at the moment across so many different fashion ranges and pages. They have been dubbed as one of the most unexpected trends right now. But, don't be scared, as much as I loved the 90s (I am totally visualising Salt n Pepa right now), we've taken those looks and evolved them and there's a bomber jacket out there to suit every style.
So, if like me, you love watching and incorporating trends, but your style is a little more understated than some of the looks you see around the catwalks and fashion pages, this is how I'm styling mine and why this spring/summer ready bomber jacket might be your answer!
The Jacket & Shoes
By choosing a bomber jacket in a light colour, like this dusky pinky salmon shade , you can pair it with so many favourites and colour combinations. Blue jeans and a white top are classics, especially with nude flats for me.
I love the way nude palettes complement every skin tone and how I can wear these shoes with virtually everything. They're pointed and shiny without the high shine of patent, which means, they can look smart, but not overly dressy. And if you're on the go a lot, they're a great way practical and stylish way to wear flats.
I bought them as part of my post-pregnancy wardrobe edit, which you can read here and check out the YouTube clip and despite the price, they're still going strong.
This bomber jacket itself is made of a cotton material and feels super soft, with the look and feel of a brushed cotton. It has a ribbed collar, and pockets in classic bomber style.
The culottes & top
These denim culottes are right on trend, too (go me!) and I managed to pick them up for £7.00. An absolute steal. They actually have some stretch to the fabric, so are comfy and practical and yet hitting all the right style notes. And again, perfect for British summer time.
I'd definitely wear them for travelling and could totally see me in a former life ambling around the South of France in them with a Chanel inspired jacket. I'm planning on pairing them with a cold shoulder top for a festival vibe or the off the shoulder bodysuit I just bought (see: in the closet) with some heels for if when I have a night out.
The blouse is gorgeous and I bought it from our post on Monochrome with Mango| Under £25.00. The necklace is detachable which is a great touch. And it was only £8.99! There was a biker jacket I missed out on from that post that you can find over on Kapinda's blog and Instagram
So, it just goes to show that I do genuinely buy the items I blog about - or I know someone who has! And, also, that my last wardrobe edit is still serving me well!

The bag
And finally, I have topped off the look with this bag from New Look. I wouldn't usually shop New Look for a bag. But, curiosity got the better of me, as it did with the Chloe-Inspired Circle bag that I bought recently. It was in our last giveaway and I'm pretty sure demand has broken the Very website for that one as it's now sold out!
Back to this bag, though, I think it's really fun, but it looks great. The material is very sturdy and it's very roomy inside. The tan and the colour block are great touches (again on trend. I am cooking with gas!) and look so nice together. So, for this really affordable price point, I think it's a good quality, stylish bag that will be good for a while to come.
What do you think, could you see yourself in a bomber jacket this summer? What are your go to spring/summer fashion looks - feel free to link up your blogs as I love getting style inspiration.
